Research summary
The study will look at the effect of Ranolazine in patients with heart failure whose heart has a problem in relaxing in order to fill with blood but has no problem in contracting to push blood around the circulation. Patients will be tested using echocardiology that uses sound waves to produce a picture of the heart. Study participants will receive standard treatment for their condition plus either the study drug or an inactive sugar coated pill (Placebo). Approximately 120 participants in 16 hospitals throughout France, The United Kingdom, Italy and Spain will take part. Four hospitals in The United Kingdom will take part each recruiting about 30 participants.
