  • Research summary

The aim of this study is to assess the safety and effectiveness of a drug called Alteplase in patients who have suffered an ischaemic stroke. At the moment the approved window following a stroke for Alteplase to be administered is three hours. This is a short period and so this study is looking at extending that time and establish efficacy at 4.5 to 9 hours following onset, or following the patient waking up with with symptoms of a stroke (wake up stroke).
