Research summary
Previous research has shown that many individuals with eating disorders transition between anorexic behaviours (severely restrictive eating) and bulimic behaviours (cycles of binge eating and purging). This study aims to investigate that process. Between 12-15 participants will be interviewed by telephone for 30-60 minutes. They will be asked about their experience of changing from one form of eating disorder to another. The data will be analysed for any key psychological themes relating to what causes eating disorder transitions and their impact on the individual.
