  • Research summary

The study was a cross-sectional questionnaire-based study with additional measurements of waist and hip circumference as an indicator of overweight/obesity and increased risk of CVD. The self-administered questionnaire combined self-designed and standardised questions including variables associated with the amputation, lifestyle and dietary intakes. The participants would be approached in person, informed about the purpose of the study and then asked to read an Information Sheet with further details regarding the study; participants would be asked to sign a Consent Form before the questionnaire was handed over for completion. Participants would be asked to have their waist and hip circumference measured by the researcher with a tape measure.
