  • Research summary

    A hospital-based prospective cohort study of adult patients with Obstructive sleep apnoea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS). The aim is to evaluate the relationship between the socioeconomic factors and adherence in mandibular advancement appliance (MMA) therapy. The second aim is to evaluate the relationship between the psychosocial factors and adherence in MMA therapy.The inclusion criteria to determine the participant is eligible to participate in the study include:\n•\tAdult (≥ 18 years old)\n•\tConfirmed diagnosis of OSA (AHI ≥ 5)\n•\tReferred for MAA therapy \nQuestionnaires will be delivered manually, and the respondents will be invited to complete them. Subjects will be also asked to keep a night diary of their hours of sleep and use of MAA. The subject’s compliance will be assessed and recorded both subjectively and objectively at baseline (T0), 3 months (T1), 6 months (T2) and 12 months (T3) from retained self-completed questionnaires and objectively by downloading the data stored in each micro-sensor within the MAA device\n\n
