Research summary
Both interprofessional education and simulation are becoming commonplace in clinical education worldwide. The merging of the two also occurs. The debriefing section of simulation (ie a facilitated group discussion after the simulation) is often considered to be the most important part of any simulation. The aim of this study is to find out:
'How do differing learner professions impact on delivery of post simulation debrief after team based interprofessional simulation – what are the challenges and what strategies can be used to overcome them?’
This will be a qualitative research study consisting of a literature review to find out what information already exists on the topic followed by semi structured interviews lasting 30-60 minutes of participants aiming to add further information. Participants will be NHS staff members who have experience in debriefing after interprofessional simulation. They will be recruited by word of mouth through contacts of the author. The interviews will be competed at a location convenient to the participant (likely their office or place of work).REC name
