Research summary
This is a follow up study of a previous ethically approved randomised controlled study looking at whether urethral dilatation (stretching the bladder valve under a general anaesthetic) provides any benefit over cystoscopy alone (looking in the bladder) in women with overactive bladder and voiding dysfunction (difficulty emptying the bladder). The original study showed that additional urethral dilatation provided no extra benefit over cystoscopy at 6 months.
We wish to perform a 3 year review of this cohort of patients to
1. identify if there is any long term benefit
2. identify the natural history of voiding dysfunctionREC name
