Research summary
Research Summary:
Our study will involve a survey of health and lifestyle behaviours of young people (aged between 16 and 24 years old) with severe mental ill health (SMI). The study aim is to provide a benchmark of health and lifestyle behaviours of young people with SMI and compare their responses to those of young people in the general population. This study is an extension of the Lifestyle Health and Wellbeing Survey which has over 6000 adult participants (any age) with SMI.Lay summary of study results:
The study was paused in March 2020 due to Covid-19 and we were unable to re-start the study due to staffing being re-purposed to work on a Covid-19 study. We have sought additional funds to re-start the study but have been unsuccessful in securing any additional funds. Prior to pausing the study we recruited one participant to the study. The study was a pilot study to determine whether it was possible to recruit a cohort of people at risk of severe mental ill health to a cohort study. Unfortunately we have been unable to determine this.REC name
