  • Research summary

Key aim of this study is to describe how the COVID-19 pandemic changed severe asthma care and how this impacted on patients in order to inform physicians on what aspects re-organization of care could be improved in case of a second wave. The specific aims are:
    1. to describe from the perspective of physicians any changes in organization of care, involvement of other disciplines, availability of biologic treatments and how they were administered, deployment of new ICT facilities, how physicians were guided to act and possible impact on future organization of care.

    2. to describe from the perspective of patients any changes in access to care and/or (biologic) treatments, and how this has altered patients’ perceptions of satisfaction with care, asthma symptoms and emotions.

To achieve the goal, the patient advisory group is part of the study team and have a key role in the study design, analysis plan, and data dissemination plan.
