Introduction and background
Knowledge from previous epidemic and widespread confinement is known to have an impact on a series of consequences at the psychological level. Initial data from China on the current COVID-19 pandemic have pointed out the importance of protecting the mental health of the population and health workers. This further highlights the importance of identifying protective factors of high levels of anxiety that are observed, through implementation of accurate health information and adequate measures of protection. The proposed study aims to identify protective factors that will help establish the most appropriate indications to protect and facilitate prompt recovery of the psychological well-being of health professional and the population at risk.Methodology
An international, multicenter, descriptive, cross-sectional study is proposed to enable compare the psychological impact, coping mechanism and information being receive on COVID-19 across all the nations and disciplines.Participants / sample
Participants will be recruited through contacting staff working in the National Health Service (NHS) and through contact of contacts and the social media. Data collection will be through an online self-administered questionnaire; this will commence after Ethics approved.Data analysis
Data will be analysed through a statistical program (SPSS version 21) in four parts; firstly will be the demographic data. The relationships between the perception of the information received and the preventive measures taken in relation to the COVID-19 and the psychological adjustment and sense of coherence, will be analysed using the statistical correlation tests (ANOVA, Student's T, Chi Square). The relationships between the level of involvement and commitment to work and psychological adjustment in workers, especially among healthcare professionals will then be analysed using Correlation analysis and regression models.Dissemination
The research will be published in impact scientific journals and presented and published in scientific and professional conferences in addition to through the media.REC name
