Research summary
The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic disproportionally affects people of African ancestry. The reasons for this are not well understood. The CoV-AFRICA study will analyse the incidence and severity of COVID-19 and the risk factors for COVID-19 in people of African ancestry with HIV. The study will also describe the effects of the pandemic on HIV care and HIV control. The study will enroll 3000 eligible people across 14 HIV and renal outpatient clinics across England until December 2022.
