  • Research summary

Little is known about risk, presentation and outcomes of SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID-19) in patients with end stage kidney disease on dialysis, who are at high-risk due to age, comorbidities and in haemodialysis patients, the inability to self-isolate due to requirement of attending unit based haemodialysis 3 times per week. Presentation in these patients can by atypical. Management of patients needing hospitalisation needs to be in areas of the hospital that can provide both renal and respiratory support and can pose challenges in patients deemed unsuitable for intensive care admission due to their co-morbidities. We aim to conduct a case series to describe demographic, clinical, laboratory,\nand radiological characteristics, risk-factors and outcomes of dialysis patients with CoVID-19 managed as an inpatient and outpatient. Part of the information is collected as a part of routine data submission to the UK Renal Registry, which is an existing clinical database routinely used for patient clinical care amongst the sites participating in this research. This information will be collected retrospectively using the electronic health records and written notes at 3 London tertiary NHS renal centres. \n
