Research summary
British Society of Rheumatology highlights the importance of vaccination against Covid-19 in vulnerable rheumatology patients. Government vaccination recommendations summarised in Green Book also emphasise that patients receiving immunosuppressive treatments should be prioritised for Covid-19 vaccination. In our clinical practice we have come across some patients who are not willing to receive this vaccine. This anonymous pilot study aims to understand which sociodemographic groups of patients are more likely to decline vaccination, and also to explore the attitude towards Coronavirus vaccine among rheumatology patients. Following this, the researchers plan to produce a patient leaflet to address specific concerns identified in the study.
