Research summary
This study will allow families of children and young people, who are vulnerable for infection due to the condition they have or due to the medication they use, to record their experiences of COVID-19 and other viral respiratory illnesses during the COVID-19 epidemic. Participants who take part will be provided with online information about the study and asked to fill in online questionnaires. Information collected will include details of any drug treatments which affect the immune-system, symptoms experienced, details of any contact with health care providers, test results and any effects on daily activities. Information will be collected and analysed weekly to look for anything that appears to increase the chances of severe disease. This out patient study is complementary to the global ISARIC World Health Organisation study of COVID-19 cases admitted to all NHS Trusts, including all children.
