Research summary
There is an urgent need to understand more about the biology of COVID-19. The aim of this study is to find out about the response of the immune system to COVID-19 to enable improvements in both treatments and diagnostic tests for the disease. Patients will be recruited both within the hospital and the community following COVID-19 testing and in many cases will be followed up over time to enable a long term analysis of the immune response to the virus.\nWe will collect samples from people with a range of different responses to infection, from those without any symptoms through to hospitalised patients, in order to assess the response of the immune system in patients with different clinical symptoms.
