  • Research summary

There remains a gap in literature around the therapy experiences of ethnic minority populations in the UK and less that specifically explores British South Asian women’s experiences of therapy in the UK, despite being the second largest ethnic group in the UK (Office of National Statistics, 2011). There is no research to date that explores British South Asian women’s experience, of being offered Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT).
CAT literature generally is limited, with much of it based on anecdotal evidence rather than evidenced research, despite now being a widely used therapeutic model across the diverse communities in the UK. The aim of the current study is to explore the British South Asian women experiences of being offered CAT.
