Research summary
Previous research has suggested comorbidity between anxiety and depression with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This could have implications for NHS services that focus solely on treating anxiety and depression, as the symptoms of anxiety and depression may actually be a by-product of PTSD and therefore not respond to the same treatment, leading to poor recovery. This study therefore aims to investigate the relationship between anxiety, depression, and PTSD through the use of self-report questionnaires of Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) clients at initial assessment. The data will then be analysed using multiple regression and path analysis to determine the relationships between the variables.
