Research summary
Varenicline (also known as champix) and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) are both useful treatments for helping people to stop smoking. Some smokers who find their attempt to stop smoking difficult have reported finding it helpful to add NRT to varenicline. This study will look at whether combining NRT and varenicline provides better withdrawal and craving relief than varenicline alone.
