    Plan of investigation
    The aim of this study is to assess 5 year tooth survival outcome when comparing root canal treatment completed using radiographs with those completed with electronic apex locators alone, within general practices.
    Subjects have been selected and root canal treatment carried out on these patients in a previous study (REC- 06/Q/1505/60). A secondary outcome for this study will be to assess 5 year clinical success.
    Patients will undergo a clinical and radiographic examination, and a data collection form will be used to collect information including; demographics, radiographic assessment, success and survival outcomes and factors that may influence study outcome.
