Research summary
This study investigate the efficacy of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for psychosis (CBTp), modified to consider both psychotic symptoms (in particular auditory verbal hallucinations, or “hearing voices“), dissociative experiences and other consequences of traumatic life events. Five voice-hearers with diagnoses of psychotic illness will be recruited for this study. Participants will recieve up to 24 session of CBTp. We will examine the effect of therapy on hallucinations, trauma-related symptoms and dissociative experiences.
