Research summary
COVID-19 is a new disease which has the potential to affect a significant proportion of the world. Unfortunately there is no cure and therefore treatment is supportive. This type of treatment often relies on the use of expensive machines. This limits patient access causing some patients to miss out. We therefore propose to study the effects of circadian rhythms on COVID-19 in the hope that this will improve COVID-19 outcomes. Since if circadian biology plays an important role, outcomes could be modified through environmental manipulation and/ or better healthcare planning.
