Data collection arrangements
The CHOIR biobank samples and data comprise:
• Blood collected at time of any routine venesection
• Tears obtained using filter paper strip (Schirmer strip) collection by eye doctor in clinic

and routinely collected clinical information.Biological data will be stored within UCL ICH laboratories, and clinical information stored within secure UCL IT services.
Informed consent will be necessary for collection of all samples.
Research programme
The CHOIR biobank will support research into childhood onset ocular inflammatory disease: understanding how and why disease develops, and providing the information needed to help develop new treatments (ie 'novel therapeutic strategies'). Key objectives are - the discovery of predictive and prognostic biomarkers (markers which predict who will respond to different treatment, and who will have bad outcomes) to allow better targeting and use of systemic therapy - provision of ocular samples to other researchers, or to companies looking to develop new tests or treatments
