Research summary
The research question is: What are the parents’ experiences of psychological interventions within child and adolescent mental health services for parents of a child with a significant to severe learning disability? The aim therefore is to investigate what parents feel the services strengths and areas of improvement are so that CAMHS and CAMHS-LD teams can expand their provision to better engage parents of a child with a learning disability within psychological work. Ultimately this would hope to benefit the child while also acting as one way by which services could meet increased demands upon CAMHS teams in a resource-limited political climate for the NHS.
