Research summary
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans provide a non-invasive way to research cardiovascular health and disease.
This programme aims to develop and use MRI to study three groups of participants to further our understanding of cardiovascular health and disease. Firstly, through the study of participants with cardiovascular disease we aim to
better the understanding of the disease processes themselves. Secondly the study of participants who are at risk of cardiovascular disease, to improve our understanding of how the diseases develop. Thirdly the study of participants without cardiovascular disease, to act as a comparison to the other groups and to provide information about normal cardiovascular health and function.REC name
