Research summary
In the last decade, new treatments including chimeric antigen receptor T cells (CAR-T) therapies have been developed and licensed to treat patients with cancer.
Although hundreds of patients have now been treated with CAR-T on the NHS, there is limited information on the experiences of patients and their family members and/or caregivers of the treatment journey.
This qualitative study using one-time, semi-structured interviews, will focus on patients who have received CAR-T therapy and family members/caregivers of CAR-T recipients.
The interviews will help us better understand the experiences of patients and their family members and/or caregivers. We would like to understand how patients and their families/carers feel about the entire CAR-T pathway, including the referral process, care during treatment and the support available. This will help us identify specific issues and or needs for support along the treatment pathway that need to be addressed.REC name
