Research summary
In this study we want to investigate whether waist hip ratio (WHR) is a better predictor of outcome following transplantation. Currently BMI is used to assess whether patients are suitable for transplantation and we think that it might be better to look at WHR as this gives an indication of where the fat is distributed which may impact on the sugical procedue. We plan to measure the WHR of all our patients prior to transplantion and then follow them up post transplant to assess outcome.
