  • Research summary

Beth is a new digital service where service users can access part of their electronic health record, developed by the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM). Through Beth, service users can create and manage personal goals, access and create coping strategies, track their sleep and share this information securely and confidentially with their care team. We want to explore service user and clinician views on Beth and how this service is currently being used. We will conduct focus groups with service users and clinicians, including groups who use and do not currently use Beth. We will also analyse Beth’s usage data to better understand how service users and clinicians are using Beth currently, by tracking the use of messaging and other user activity over time.
In this project we want to find out:
1 – Do service users like Beth?
2 – Do clinicians like Beth? How has it changed their work?
3 – How are service users using Beth.
This research will identify areas for Beth’s improvement and can evaluate its ability to facilitate integrated, efficient, high quality remote mental healthcare delivery.
