Why?
Surgical video recording is growing in popularity worldwide due to the potential benefits of better transparency and greater patient safety. However, its uptake is not widespread. The aim of this research is to understand some of those challenges and design methods to overcome these challenges to improve future uptake of surgical video recording.What?
We are conducting interviews to explore the issues and challenges surrounding surgical video recording.Who?
We are interviewing members of the surgical team including surgeons, nurses, operating department practitioners, anaesthetists; patients awaiting surgery or patients who have recently had surgery; wider stakeholders including those involved in information governance or surgical industry.Where?
Interviews will be conducted online using MS Teams.Data are intended to be used as part of a PhD thesis and be published in a peer-reviewed journal.
