Research summary
RECD measures are an important aspect of hearing aid fitting in children, as they enable the selection of appropriate amplification by taking into account ear canal volume. Recent times have seen the development of an automated system for hearing aid verification; however this has yet to be researched formally for use in the paediatric population. The aim of this research is to determine whether an automated system for hearing aid verification is an appropriate tool for use in the paediatric population. A within-group design will enable the comparison of the two methods of hearing aid verification for quantitative analysis. Particpants won't be recruited, however anonymised audiological data will be used to carry out the research.
