  • Research summary

Patient views are important in creating patient-centred services in the NHS. Patient experience is currently assessed by the Neurorehabilitation Experience Questionnaire (NREQ) in a paper format on the in-patient neurorehabilitation wards of The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. This questionnaire has been assessed as a reliable and valid tool. The purpose of the current study is to expand this questionnaire by making it available as an App on an iPad. We hope this will make it easier for those with cognitive and/or physical difficulties as a consequence of their brain injuries. The reliability and validity of the App as a tool will be assessed in the current study.

Reliability refers to whether the questionnaire is a consistent measure of patients experience of neurorehabilitation.

Validity refers to whether the questionnaire actually measures patient experience of these services.
