Research summary
Over 500 million people globally suffer from respiratory conditions (breathing problems), diagnosing and monitoring such conditions is important. Currently 3 separate measurements are taken to assess individuals' respiratory function, those are often difficult for patients who suffer from breathing problems. Arete Medical Technologies has designed a device that can take all 3 measurements at once. Prior to the device being introduced in healthcare setting we want to assess how clinicians and patients find the device, how easy it is to set up, how easy it is to use in different settings. The current study will look at user feedback and clinicians acceptability of the device in community settings. We will not be assessing the actual functions of the device, we aim to obtain feedback from patients and clinicians on the device use and see if it functions in different environment (community settings and possible home use). This will help us develop appropriate user manuals for the device once it is rolled out.
