  • Data collection arrangements

Dr Peter Metherall and his team who manage the clinical 3D lab databse will give a Unique Identity Number to all patients’ data currently in the database and those who are prospectively entered into the database. Data is de-identified by removing patient identifiable information. The Unique Identify Number will be retained only. Data is inputted into an electronic spreadsheet on password-protected computers.

  • Research programme

This database will support the research interests of Cardiologists, Radiologists and physicists within the research team and in the cardiac imaging community. Cardiac MRI and CT are evolving technique with great potential in the diagnosis, therapy planning and prognostication of patients with cardiac disease. This database will allow analysis of the large number of cases in order to determine the accuracy of the MRI and CT measurements in a clinical setting.
