Data collection arrangements
AncestryDNA is conducting the AncestryDNA Human Genetic Diversity Project which will collect, preserve and analyze genetic information, genealogical pedigrees, historical records, surveys, and other information from people all around the world in order to better understand human evolution and migration, population genetics, ethnographic diversity and boundaries, genealogy, and the history of our species.
The Project involves neither the administration of a medicinal product nor any other therapeutic or medical intervention on the individuals participating in the project. The Project involves only the collection and analysis of irreversibly anonymised genetic, genealogical and health information. Participation in the project is entirely voluntary and requires the prior consent of an individual.
Research programme
The Project will be a valuable genealogic tool for future generations and will engage the interest of a wide range of scholars interested in genealogy, anthropology, evolution, languages, cultures, medicine, and other topics.
