Research summary
We have noted that although many children with Intellectual Disability have struggled, some appear to have experienced an improvement in their mental state and behavioural presentation coinciding with the lockdown and school closures resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. We intend to explore further the experiences of children with Intellectual Disabilities and their families through conducting a survey amongst parents and carers of children open to the local Child and Adolescent Learning Disability Service. The cohort will be selected from the children open to the Child and Adolescent Learning Disability Service within Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust. All children will have diagnoses of Intellectual Disability and will reside within the Trust boundary.
