  The aim of this study is to determine whether biting on a soft acrylic wafer during the removal of fixed braces reduces the pain experienced compared with just following the standard technique of fixed brace removal i.e. not biting on anything. We will also investigate the patients expectations of pain during the removal of fixed appliances.
