  • Research summary

This study proposes to investigate the effects of a self-help intervention based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for people with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), via a series of individual cases. Participants recruited from an NHS service following treatment as normal will take part in a 6 week guided self help intervention with reading material provided and support from the researcher via the phone or email. Regular measures of both self-report and implicit change will be recorded in order to assess any effects that this intervention might have.
