  • Data collection arrangements

We will collect and anonymise radiological images from individual NHS trusts and store them on an encrypted hard-drive (AES 256). We will than transfer the images to the UCL computer science network, where the anonymised images will be protected by the same firewall that protects the department.

  • Research programme

The research programme will be run by University College London. Although there will be no specific funding, it will be supported by resources from within the Wellcome/EPSRC Centre for Interventional and Surgical sciences. The aim of the database is to train artificial intelligence algorithms to assist clinicians and radiologists to interpret radiological images. We hope this will improve efficiency and safety within the NHS.
