Research summary
The ADAPT-HF study represents part of a wider European research project called “PASSION-HF” that is funded by the European Union (Interreg NWE 702). It aims to develop and evaluate a virtual doctor for people with heart failure (HF). The purpose of ADAPT-HF study is to evaluate the HF application (“SanaCoach-HF”), which can be used on a password protected smartphone or tablet, to be used on a regular basis by patients with HF. This study involves interviews with up to 12 unpaid caregivers who are supporting a relative/friend who is a participant in the STABILISE-HF study and has been using the SanaCoach app for several months. The interviews will explore the perspective of unpaid caregivers regarding the use of eHealth applications for HF, such as SanaCoach HF. A virtual world café workshop will also be conducted with 12-16 healthcare professionals (i.e., general practitioners, cardiologists, and nurses), which will identify facilitators/barriers and needs for optimal clinical adoption of eHealth applications. The information from this study will inform future clinical use and sustainable implementation of an app for patients with HF.
