Research summary
Myocardial infarction and other acute coronary syndromes (ACS) remain leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the UK. Through the NIHC collaboration we will bring together routinely collected NHS data on patients admitted with suspected ACS. Our primary research questions will focus on the identification and evaluation of currently available biochemical, physiological and imaging biomarkers for diagnosis and risk stratification in ACS. The results will inform new approaches to improve clinical care for patients with ACS in the UK.
