Research summary
There is a wealth of information and treatment methods for atopic eczema. It has been highlighted within practice, that poor compliance and revisiting practitioners needs to be addressed in our GP practice. Understanding the patient experience and developing education may improve practice. The prevelance of eczema has increased. GP consultations for this condition creates extra demand and workload due to issues of compliance. There is a wealth of information and treatment methods and sourcing up to date and relevant evidence is a challenge for health professionals. Understanding the patient experience and exploring patients needs will guide education development at practice level.
A survey via questionnaire will be utilised to describe patient experience of this condition.
The practice database will be used to identify patients with this condition and questionnaires diseminated to them.Children will be included however the questionnaire will be aimed at the parent or guardian of that person, for them to complete
Quantative descriptive statistics will be obtained from the results of the questionnaire
