  In the current context of increased waiting times for elective operations, particularly in Orthopaedics, we intend to undertake a health needs assessment to identify the needs of patients waiting for hip or knee arthroplasty in NHS Highland. This will involve qualitative interviews with patients. The results may be shared more widely than the public health and orthopaedic teams within NHS Highland to inform best practice in other other specialties or out with the health board.
