A blue line showing studies submitted by students receiving a final opinion from a REC (UK wide) starts at 1,786 in 2018 and falls to 1,607 in 2019. There is then a sharp decrease to 1,059 studies in 2020, before small reductions to 989 in 2021 and 970 in 2022, before rising slightly to 1,018 in 2023.
A yellow line shows studies submitted by students receiving HRA and HCRW Approval and starts at 1,279 in 2018 and drops slightly to 1,206 in 2019. A similar sharp decrease is seen dropping to 790 in 2020, before a small reduction to 759 in 2021 and 733 in 2022, before rising slightly to 772 in 2023.
