A graph showing the single-use plastics ordered by the Health Research Authority between 2020 and 2024. The data for each year is broken down into four quarters.
The graph shows a significant increase in single-use plastics, rising from less than 100 items (on average) per quarter in 2020, to around 350 items (on average) per quarter in 2023. The peak of the graph is quarter two in 2023 where just over 700 items were ordered. In quarter three of 2023 just below 300 items were ordered and in quarter four just over 500 items were ordered.
In 2022 the number of items bought in each quarter did not exceed 150 items. In 2021 other than quarter three where around 350 items were bought, in each of the other quarters the number of items bought was less than 100.
