We are looking for people who use our systems to work with us to improve how you apply for research approvals, and manage and run your research projects. If you'd like to volunteer, please complete our form.
Our systems include IRAS (research application system), TOPS (the over-volunteering system), and HARP (used by study wide reviewers, Research Ethics Committee (REC) members and REC support), and users are typically:
- Researchers and research applicants
- Research project managers
- Delivery teams such as research nurses or clinical trial pharmacists
- Sponsors
- Commercial and non-commercial
- Those making or reviewing new applications and those involved in amendments
- Our volunteers who review studies (REC/Confidentiality Advisory Group (CAG) members)
This list is not exhaustive - if you are involved in research please sign up.
Who we want to hear from
We want to hear from a diverse range of users who have different expertise and work within different roles across the research ecosystem. This includes people working in the UK and international users, with a range of familiarity with the system, including those who:
- are new to research
- use our systems infrequently
- have lots of experience
- use our systems frequently
- may not currently use our systems, but receive outputs from the systems (documents etc) to deliver research
It is important that our systems are accessible. We encourage people with accessibility needs to volunteer so we can make sure the systems we build are accessible to all users.
What is user research/testing?
User research and user testing may involve a wide variety of activities.
They are usually one-to-one online sessions, and may involve asking for your thoughts and experience on a specific topic, or asking for your views on a prototype design.
We will support you throughout these sessions, and explain each part of the process.
If you'd like to get involved, please complete our form.
