HRA presentations were well attended at this year’s NHS R&D Forum Annual Conference which took place on Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 May in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
The conference, delivered in association with the HRA, attracted more than 400 delegates of R&D management professionals working in providers and commissioning organisations across the UK.
It was an integrated programme of updates, poster presentations and interactive sessions developed by the R&D Forum and the HRA.
The HRA presented on a range of topics, including sharing the experience of implementing HRA Approval, the information governance work stream under HRA Approval and cross border working. We also ran a question and answer session on the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research.
At the event, we were pleased to launch new joint HRA and INVOLVE documents. The evidence briefing on involving the public in health and social care research and guidance on the relevance of public involvement to the role of Research Ethics Committees were both well received by attendees.
In addition, the programme featured sessions on best practice, debate and discussion on hot topics as well providing training opportunities.
