NHS England has launched a consultation looking at how arrangements for research in the NHS could be simplified.
The proposals set out how NHS England, the NIHR Clinical Research Network and the HRA can work together to implement changes to manage excess treatment costs better, and to further improve commercial clinical research set-up and reporting.
The consultation provides more detail, including a proposed quicker, standardised process for agreeing commercial contract values to cut delays in setting up multi-site trials. It will run for nine weeks, closing on 1 February 2018.
