We’re joining hundreds of thousands of people across the UK to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NHS.
As we take time to celebrate and reflect on all that has been achieved over the last 75 years, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank our staff and volunteers for their enormous contribution to the NHS.
The important role they play in making sure health and social care research is safe, ethical and fair cannot be overstated.
In particular we want to say a big thank you to the amazing volunteers who sit on Research Ethics Committees and the Confidentiality Advisory Group.
They give their time and expertise generously to ensure that applications for health and social care research are carefully reviewed to protect the dignity, rights and safety of research participants. Without their expertise and time, we simply couldn’t do what we do.
As part of our NHS 75 celebrations, we’re delighted to share thank you video messages from our Chief Executive, Matt Westmore, and Professor Lucy Chappell, Chief Scientific Adviser to the Department of Health and Social Care and Lord James O'Shaughnessy, who recently carried out an independent review of commercial clinical trials.
In their video messages, Lucy and James recognise the key role we play in the NHS and the invaluable contribution of our staff, volunteers and members of the public who get involved in our work.
A message from Professor Lucy Chappell, Chief Scientific Adviser to the Department of Health and Social Care.
A message from Dr Matt Westmore, Chief Executive of the HRA.
A message from Lord James O'Shaughnessy.
Thank you once again to our staff and volunteers for the positive impact you make to the NHS. We're very grateful to each and every one of you for your hard work and dedication.
