Thomas's career has been centred around building software for medical research across both the public and private sector. In his roles as software developer and consultant he has helped design and implement systems that ensure the safe collection, transfer, and usage of population-level data. He believes it's particularly important to reduce unnecessary or wasted collection of data by making sure software guides accurate data entry and doesn't hinder appropriate research.
His recent work uses Artificial Intelligence in Medical Devices, and he has a growing interest in the complexities around the use of patient data in Machine Learning.
