Andrew Melville worked in local authority social care for 38 years before retiring in 2010. He worked in a variety of operational, management and project posts in both adult and children’s social care. In later years this was about business transformation, developing processes and information requirements to support organisational change, including electronic social care recording, practice development and training of social workers and managers, and pilot services involving the integration of health and social care. Andrew recognised the importance of the appropriate use of information and data in such work for the benefit of those in receipt of services.
