Research summary
Paediatric uveitis (inflammation inside the eye) is an uncommon disorder which carries the risk of blindness. In the most common form of the disorder, anterior uveitis, the front chamber of the eye is affected. Inadequate treatment of active inflammation has been shown to be related to poor outcome. Disease is considered to be asymptomatic in childhood: however, this does not correlate with anecdotal responses. We propose to develop and validate a questionnaire able to capture the symptoms of childhood uveitis.
